You can apply for the PGWP from outside of Canada within 180 days after program completion; however, you will not be able to return to Canada until the decision is made on your application. After receiving your PGWP approval (Letter of Introduction), your letter will specify the date by which you must travel to Canada, typically corresponding to the length of the PGWP for which you are eligible. Upon arriving in Canada and presenting your Letter of Introduction for your work permit to the officer, your work permit should be issued for the full duration of the PGWP for which you are eligible.
